Two Fixtures To Look Forward To
Slaney take on Premier side Nurney Villa in the ¼ Final of Shield at home at 11.00 am and on Monday, Slaney Under 12`s become first Slaney team, to play a competitive match, under lights, when they take on neighbours Hacketstown Utd. in the IT Carlow at 7.00 pm.
Slaney Five Points Clear in Title Race.
With the nearest title rivals New Oak losing to Wolfhill, Slaney got a crucial away win at St. Fiacc`s. The only goal of the game came as early as the 5`th.minute when a corner from Paddy Farrell found Stephen Darcy at the back post who headed down into the path of Conor O Brien, who made no mistake from close range. St. Fiacc`s needing to win this game themselves, to keep in touch with the top two ,throw everything but the Slaney defence held firm, to move five points clear in the title race.
Slaney Ladies Go Top Ot The Table
Slaney Ladies travelled to Crettyard and had to dig deep after going a goal down. Slaney responded when Carole Mc Grath found the net, from a Catherine Dempsey corner and the winner from the penalty spot from Mary Coady, put Slaney two points clear at the top of Division One.
